I have been working at Genpact

Pros

Great opportunities to work on. Independence to execute. Flexible work timings. Extensive training facilities. Equal opportunity and no bias. Inspiring leaders.

Cons

Better ergonomics and better / hygenic facilities for food. A bit more IT savvy management. Right people in right roles specially in IT. Maybe remove some deadwood.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Revamp IT - we are no-where.. Innovation is almost dead..relying too much on vendors / outsourced expertise. How can we ignore this skill when the other players in BPO come very strongly here? We may not be like them, but we defintely can be better.

I have been working at Genpact

    Pros

    Learning opportunity
Flexible work hours although it does come in the way of 'perception management'
    Flexibility on choice of roles

    Cons

Senior leaders do not have any respect for employees
Very poor listening skills and too much self promotions at the cost of own direct reports too, amongst leadership
All about ;who is saying something' versus '; what is being
New employees find is very hard to break into the political circles
Perception management destroys all credible work done

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at your leadership seriously and consider if they really are meant to be leaders. Good operations people do not necessarily make good leaders. Listen to people down the line whose voices are suppressed by power hungry leaders. Get external assessments done. Stop initiatives, drive few but important initiatives and not too many checklist one's used simply to give someone their moment of glory. Review performance management system - too much dependence on perceptions and views of people who should not be having a view on the employee - everyone cant have a view on everyone!

I have been working at Genpact

    Pros

    1) Flexibility in moving intra COE or even inter-COE
    2) Work pressure is not high
    3) Senior management is very good.

    Cons

    1) It is not a good pay master
    2) Majority of the employees are from tier 3 colleges in India
    3) HR policies and role of HR can be improved.
    4) Middle management are not able to cope with senior management vision.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire good people from good colleges and you have to shell out extra too to retain them. Company is cutting cost some of which may actually prove fatal in competitiveness in future.
