I worked at Gentiva full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Great hard working employees who strive to be the best in the industry

Cons

Senior management is arrogant and out of touch. Gentiva was once a great place to work and achieve personal and career goals. Since 2007 it has turned into an organization of corporate greed, backstabbing and manipulation. As a corporate employee you have to kiss butt and watch your back. Years of sacrifice and proven success means nothing if you are not in the club.

    Pros

    Great field team, rewarding work with families, flexible days,

    Cons

    Little chance for advancement, poor or no raises, mileage rates low, pays less then other hospices in the area, over worked, on call requirements with huge case loads (18-22 pt per nurse), unfair playing field with promotions

    I have been working at Gentiva full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    1) Insurance/benefit package is solid. 2) Continual home health specific training from corporate office. 3) "Peer Mentor" assigned to you from a different branch/program upon your start date really was a valuable source of support

    Cons

    1) No system for reporting when you get a referral, so you have no way to follow up with your referral sources. 2) NTUCs (not taken under care) are not reported/documented. 3) No sense of urgency with branch and getting patients on service.

    Help the clinical side see that the sales side is on the same team.
