I worked at Genworth Financial full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Has a lot of great benefits from the days of GE. These include pretty rich benefits, a culture of wanting to be a good place for employees to work, and a good understanding of corporate camaraderie.

    Cons

Company has been in serious turmoil since 2008 and the mortgage crisis, making many positions there (even new hires) risky. My position was terminated (with me) months after it was created, and virtually every one I knew there was also laid off as they cut back. They try hard to take care of the folks they layoff, but it looks like the turmoil continues as they restructure and try to make it through this period.

I worked at Genworth Financial full-time for less than a year

    Pros

A great place for growth and advancement. The office I was always looking at new ways of doing things and was open to feedback.

    Cons

Extremely high pressure, high volume environment. Granted some of it was due to the growth of that area at the time, however there were many system, companies, dept and strategies which could not work together simply due to logistical reasons, so many things had to be manually forced.
