Pros

Benefits were okay, but not great.

Cons

Management only looking out for themselves; don't care about employees; pay isn't great. Promotions happen via friends/contacts and are arranged before postings happen.

    Pros

Pay is decent for Raleigh, NC. New building with free parking. Lots of good folks bailing because the MI buisiness is bleeding out. CEO is verfy personable but he bailed too.

    Cons

A culture of CPI-nicks that never really accomplish anything. This is truly a "good ole' boy" culture too. The preferred management style is "micro-manage". HR actually runs the company and they are the most incompetent goup I have ever worked with.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop micro-managing.

I worked at Genworth Financial full-time

    Pros

Genworth offers many volunteer opportunities and tries to be a good corporate citizen
    Health and wellness are promoted
Compensation can be good but not uniformly generous

    Cons

Sometimes the relationship between Genworth and its data center causes difficulties
IT staff sometimes get very overworked
    Conflict between teams can occur
Not much opportunity to learn and apply new skills as training is pretty haphazard

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Properly appreciate the existing staff
Hire contractors as employees where possible so the knowledge they've acquired (both business and technical) does not walk out the door
