I worked at George Washington University full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Tuition benefits available to full-time salaried employees, complemented by part-time degree programs
    - Professional positions in a variety of departments ideal for recent graduates to develop administrative skills
    - Good benefits package including university contributions to retirement
    - Well-established with surrounding research agencies and community-oriented organizations
    - Ideal location in downtown Washington, DC which provides accessibility to government agencies

    Cons

    - Somewhat decentralized campus offices makes intra-office collaboration difficult
    - Management at specific offices can be poor (high turn-over and/or lack of ability to terminate tenured employees who under-perform)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Ideally, leadership would foster positive relations with employees if they will directly delegate tasks to employees OR leave task delegation primarily to office management
