Pros

Students in the graduate school are motivated to learn and they contribute to teaching.

Cons

As an adjunct professor, it's a challenge to juggle various accountabilities, but the school dean and I are clear on what we need to accomplish, and I am 100% committed to best achievable outcomes.

    Pros

Its great working with the participants and conducting research.

    Cons

The project investigator is an enabler. The project director is an ineffective leader and is incapable of making decisions. Sadly, there is a hierarchy in the office. If you are faculty you are treated with the utmost respect and if you are staff, sorry you are insignificant. There is not "I" in Team. No advancement opportunities or raises.

    Advice to Management

The supervisors need to take a course on how to be an effective/fair leader in the workplace.

I worked at Georgetown University part-time

    Pros

Great Colleagues Access to fantastic resources Access to the nation's capitol

    Cons

A very large institution, bureaucratic headaches Research may be it's own reward, but more pay would help

    Advice to Management

The high level of work that is expected and that people want to contribute is at a level that deserves higher compensation, even if it is in tuition assistance.
