Great coworkers who go above and beyond to get customers in and out in a timely manner.

Cons

Work too many hours and no overtime pay.nPoor communication from headquarters. Expensive medical benefits.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communication! The communication is horrible in this agency.
Accountability! The agency leaders need to hold themselves accountable for the poor service to the customers and to their employees.
Work/Life Benefit- You will work, work, work. Even on your days off and hours after your center has closed. Don't expect to see your families.

I have been working at Georgia Department of Driver Services

    Pros

Learning about government and staying in the field. Safe environment and secure position.

    Cons

Majority of State employees in the field are on Government assistance (food stamps, wic, obamacare, etc). No Heath benefits and can NOT afford it through the state of you have a family. If you're single, maybe. The salaries are way too small for current living conditions. Cost of living increased over the years and so should have the salaries. We feel unappreciated from the upper management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talking about "great job" but not actually meaning it is obvious when upper management comes around. Be open to your people. Ask them what they want from DDS and what their goals are. Most of the managers that get hired want to leave free a while because they use DDS as a way to get into the state. Why not give them proper salaries so that they can stay and support their families with that salary.
