Pros

Good pay. The work conditions vary throughout the mill, but most areas are pretty good. Maintenance is treated pretty well.

Cons

The culture and attitude of the workers is a little toxic. A lot of complaining and undercutting.

I have been working at Georgia-Pacific Corporation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The only pro here is steady employment

    Cons

Management rules by fear and intimidation. Corporate has ideals called the MGM principles but the majority of management does not follow them. Upper management and the corporation stresses safety but middle management and much of front line will cut corners and will act need when you follow the policies and try to be safe. Application of safety rules are ignored and enforced to the politics of management. There is almost a distain of the common worker by managers. They relentlessly work many employees 84 hours a week and punish them when they get tired and do something stupid.

    Advice to Management

Gut the mill of mid to upper level management. Install a 60 hour a week maximum to cut down on injuries due to tiredness which is under reported.
