I have been working at Georgia Tech

Pros

I think we had great training, very good projects and great mentor. There are a lot of discussions among students. Good library resources, nice campus

Cons

salary not very good, barely enough for living. Atlanta is not a very safe place to live, there are crimes on campus and off-campus

Advice to ManagementAdvice

please increase graduate research assistantship, please make more presence in government connections and newspapers so that more people know Georgia Tech. It is a great unviersity, but not so many people know i.

I have been working at Georgia Tech

    Pros

The prestige of working at GT carries a lot of weight with future employees--in higher ed, at least.
    The intown location is awesome.

    Cons

There are raise and promotion freezes right now. It seems like some departments know how to get around this while others leave you hanging

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you can't give raises, then expect to give more praise and find creative ways to show appreciation. It would boost morale.
