Pros

> Independence in work hours
> Challenging work
> Ability to consult with wide variety of peers
> Honed presentation skills

Cons

> Salary isn't spectacular for undergrad research work
> Sometimes it was hard to find a direction for work because of open ended nature of job
> A lot of the specific job skills were self taught so the first few weeks were challenging
> Workload from research overwhelming at times when combined with classes

I worked at Georgia Tech full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great connections can be made through Tech. There are amazing research opportunities, and the professors are experts in their fields. I would go back if I needed another degree.

    Cons

One of the downsides to having the professors be experts in their field and being involved in the amazing projects etc. is that the instruction varies greatly between profs. Some are great, but some are not, but they are around because the pull in money and do great research.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
