I worked at Georgia Tech part-time for more than a year

Pros

Very friendly atmosphere, great people, nice campus, gym, lots of walking, less stress. The management was very helpful and offered a lot of training and support.

Cons

Good for an academic career including lots of teaching and grading versus a business job solving real world problems. Not many opportunities for a permanent position.

I have been working at Georgia Tech part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

This is a student assistantship that takes care of the tution and pays some stipend for daily expenses. The tution being waived is the biggest advantage.

    Cons

The stipend is barely enough to pay the bills. Lot of work, very hectic, but its towards your own education.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Georgia Tech full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Given autonomy, and work scheduling flexibility

    Cons

Poor leadership structure or control, No long term or short term strategic plan, very poor communication, no authenticity in leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop "telling" the staff you care about the work they do, and start actually showing it, In the paycheck. Staff payroll increases totaling <3% in last 5 years. Faculty and administration, double digit increases.
