Interesting work, but culture is TOO laid back

Student Research Assistant (Former Employee) Atlanta, GA

Pros- very smart and friendly employees
- your work is often on the cutting edge and/or has never been tried before
- flexible schedules
-lots of vacation time

Cons-pay is good enough starting out, but forget about raises above inflation level
-a general lack of urgency in completing work (I guess that may be a plus for some)
-people are coasting on the all of the DOD work that comes in and there's a general lack of interest in diversifying
-the promotion structure is extremely rigid
