Pros

- you'd work with a lot of young, motivated people from great companies and top schools

Cons

- lack of growth
- thinks they're at the top of the financial world when they're not
- compensation isn't in line with market value
- too corporate to a point where you feel suffocated
- power politics > getting the job done

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Nobody's perfect, including you. Listen to employees and accept constructive feedback on how to motivate employees and develop better management skills. Upper management is arrow-minded.

    I have been working at Gerson Lehrman Group

    Pros

    Everyone is incredibly intelligent, and encouraging (minus current manager)

    Cons

    Benefits are TERRIBLE.
    Complaining to HR does nothing
    Manager can fire you whenever he/she wants to because she does like you.
    Low retention rate, people leave frequently.
    No annual raise unless you are promoted.
    Year end bonus based on how much your manager likes you.

    Please stop promoting incompetent people
