Pros

-Concerned about safety
-union job
-useful benefits (10% off GE products means lots saved from groceries)
-understanding managers
-good work atmosphere, all coworkers are very nice

Cons

-work schedule changes weekly
-for part time, the number of hours changes weekly
-fingerprint recognition on punch clocks is spotty and can be very frustrating

Advice to ManagementAdvice

regular work schedules or regular shift times would be nice, also the punch clocks could use some upgrading, it shouldn't take 7-8 tries regularly for a print to be recognized.

    Pros

    Flexible scheduling, friendly co-workers, good experience

    Cons

    Hard to move up, management will play favorites, not enough raises (probably due to being in the United Food and Commercial Workers Union) which you have to be in to work there.

    Don't play favorites and reward the people who actually do the job well.

    Pros

    most of the employees in the pharmacy are nice

    Cons

    not all of the employees have been trained enough. i think that all employees who work in the pharmacy should know how to do all aspects of the job, not just how to run a register and answer a phone. we have employees who have been with giant eagle for over a year and all they do is run the register in the pharmacy. they need to be able to re-bill rx's and put thru refills and run rx's thru.

    i think the pharmacy techs do not make enough of money for all they are expected to do. the pharmacist make all the money and thee techs are expected to do everything.
