Gibson Guitar – “Not a good place to hide”
1 of 19 people found this helpfulPros
Result oriented - you control your destiny. Great product. Opportunity for advancement.
The comments about the CEO on this site are slanted. When he bought the company is was worth a fraction of its current value. It was failing. If the CEO is ineffective how to explain the turnaround, the massive growth, and even many of the critics observations that it's staffed with excellent people?
Cons
Result oriented is a "con" if you are unable to produce results. It is impossible to hide yourself in the team and do nothing all day. The company demands that you work effectively.
Advice to Senior Management
Review the hiring process. Do a better job of hiring good people on the first try.

Neither they, nor myself had any control on our destiny...other than choosing to leave for sanity's sake and personal pride.

by OMG, Are you Daft?:
What you are NOT is correct. I've never read a more consistent description of this man by multiple experienced people who've known and worked for him on any other company rating on this site. NOBODY at Gibson controls their own destiny within that company.
If you are given a task and a major project than denied the simplest financial or other approvals or resources to accomplish the task after providing a detailed and APPROVED plan and budget for the task, and are then called on the carpet and humiliated in front of your workers and staff for your failures, how are you in control of your destiny? You are delusional. As delusional as Henry.
Looks at the massive amount of talent that comes and goes quickly from that company and tell me this review you're posting isn't horse-hockey of the filthiest degree! Gibson hires plenty of good people on the first try, and then walks them directly into The Looking Glass under the direction of Henry "Mad Hatter" Juskiewicz.
