Gilead Sciences Anonymous in Foster City, CA:   (Current Employee)

Pros

Stable company with successfully marketed products and a good pipeline

Cons

Salaries at all levels are significantly below average for this field. Employees are treated like cattle. The CEO has stated "If you don't like it, leave." I know several people from different departments who have gone on stress leave and not returned to Gilead.

Advice to Senior Management

The 2007 employee survey showed that :
1) people do not feel committed to Gilead due to poor work-life balance,
2) management is viewed as inflexible and does not develop people, and
3) salaries and benefits are far below average. Not much has been done in the past 18 months to correct these issues.

Also, let people work form home!!!
