I have been working at Gilead Sciences full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

lots of responsibility, lots of work and challenge, always lots to do from day one; chance to make a real contribution to making people well with deadly diseases; real sense of satisfaction in helping people live better lives with the medicines we develop; also, a very ethical company.

Cons

old boy top management; same that was there 20 years ago when company much smaller; some of the same computer systems are there as well with antiquated IT systems--Microsoft 2010? really? And they just switched to that? And this is silicone valley?

Advice to ManagementAdvice

trust those below you more; micro management means you do not trust. Commit more than just lip service to grooming and hiring up from within.
