Pros

Extremely fast-paced, many opportunities to learn new things and participate on projects/teams outside of your purview. Promotions sometimes don't come soon enough, but always thoughtfully considered and in line with company needs. I work with a group of people always willing to roll up their sleeves and help where needed.

Cons

Extremely fast-paced. Sometimes feel like there aren't enough hours in the day to get things done.

Advice to Management

Keep up the good work!

    Pros

Large company feel with some large company benefits like small gym, onsite childcare.

    Cons

Refusal to listen to employee feedback has hurt this company (low morale, recent layoffs, multiple FDA 483 observations). Vesting options are the "golden handcuffs" to keep people there, since burnout rate is high (Gilead boasts it operates at a 10K employee capacity with half of that employee amount, hence the stressed-out individuals). No transparency with management. Inadequate training provided to employees and in turn the employees are expected to perform at a high level. Internal methods and SOPs are riddled with inconsistencies and errors. Supervisor did not understand the difference between the mediocrity of the current state and the possibility of thinking "out the box". In addition, supervisor was poorly trained, gave little support and based employee assessments subjectively (confirmed via discussion with other employees).

    Advice to Management

Listen to employee feedback on everything, but that will be tough since upper management stubbornly sticks to its guns and prevents change by way of a trickle-down suppression.

    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

    - aggressive environment convinces employees to eliminate their social lives , commit themselves entirely to the company, and wait for their stock options to vest before hurrying to the next better-paying job

    Cons

    - refusal to hire contractors in order to avoid paying out the recruiters and committing to full-time employee benefits
    - very low salary compensation compared to other comparable companies
    - bonuses and raises are practically negligible
    - micro-management from managers who are overworked and not fit to manage people
    - unprofessional upper-management not interested in contributing to a positive or nurturing work environment whatsoever
    - the poison of politics lurks heavily in every department

    Advice to Management

    - take several courses on how to manage people before joining the Management team
