Pros

Decent pay, smart co-workers, good challenges

Cons

Very obvious issues brought up many times in surveys throughout the company, very slow to actually address: management needs to decide on a specific direction and actually strive for it. Lack of room for advancement. Probably because of teams being cut back instead of growing.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take opinions from surveys seriously. Provide a better opportunity for advancement.

    I have been working at Gilt Groupe full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    The people are amazing and there are a lot of interesting projects to work on. From an engineering point of view, it is open to new ideas and you get to learn very quickly about fashionable new technologies.

    Cons

    Career development has not quite been thought through in a meaningful way. While there would be Director and VP openings once in a while, upper management usually hires from outside.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Focus on developing talent and leadership from the people you already have. A lot want a bigger role in the company and are forced to find this elsewhere.
