Pros

There are varied carrer opportunities, the ability to progress within and between roles. The benefits package is excellent and the company can be flexble in accomodating personal needs. The focus on delivering benefit to to patient and value to the payer is excellent and to my mind places GSKahead of many others in the industry.

Cons

The climate in the pharma industry and the attitude of society towards big pharma is driving rapid change and cost cutting. this is not specific to GSK, but GSK is not immune. Andrew Witty seems to have solid appreciation of the issue. Head office location at Brentford has to be one of the worst locations in London from a transport and ammenity perspective. Car parking is very restricted and public transport links are poor.

Advice to Management

The grass is not always greener outside, there is plenty of great talent internally - liberate it.

    Cons

old fashioned and beurocratic - big company blues in financial straits at the moment and this makes it a tough place to be at times a general level fof cynisism lots of waste - lots of people wasting the company mony

    Advice to Management

stick with the strategy stop making changes keep focussed on delivering and dont be afraid to cut out poor performers

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Good place to apply science and engineering and a leader in the field. Attractive product pipeline when compared to the rest of the industry and the presence of a new CEO who will make change happen

    Cons

Politics, Beurocracy. Takes too long to do anything and only those that brownose seem to suceed. Management is very retracted from the issues that cause us problems in production so there proposed solutions for better operational efficiency is somewhat blurred. R&D is not a productive environment compared to other companies that seem to do development far better than GSK

    Advice to Management

Get on the ground so what things are really like
