Good for a short term job, but nothing I'd make a career out of

Pros

Good job if you are positive and good at working with people. Some room for upward movement/promotions. Good commission, especially during busy months. Working directly with customers is mostly a good experience (there will always be frustrated people to deal with too).

Cons

Company changes their mind frequently on what areas they are going to focus on -- about every 3-6 months they roll out a different style.

Commission structure also changed somewhat frequently.

Varied hours.

Neutral Outlook
No opinion of CEO

Company not worth the one star

    Pros

    The company still exists. Somehow.

    Cons

If you want to work hard and not get rewarded come work for this crap company. There is no room for advancement and they cut commissions every few months. They raise your quotas then lower your pay. Does that make any sense. This company was doing very well in the dallas area until they fired or ran off all the good employees. All thats left now is 8 dollar an hour help. But they want you to do 20 dollar an hour work but only pay you the 8. Stores that used to produce 20k a month are closing because of the 8 dollar an hour work. Stores get no marketing budget but they expect you to still hit quotas. No respect from upper management. No possible way to move up within the company. I am very surprised this company is still operating. They make you work open to close by yourself with no lunch breaks. 10.5 hour shift with no breaks. Look at other indirect Verizon companies as this one is the bottom of the line worst company ever to work for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management is dumber than the 8 dollar an hour help, so any advice here wouldnt do any good. I wouldnt be surprised if they go under in the next couple years....unless a major change comes through.

    Pros

Excellent support form regional HR rep.
    Good co-workers.
    Flexible hours.
Good experience for getting a job with Verizon Corporate.

    Cons

Since the reorganization the company has taken a dive. It is worse than ever. No-one should want to subject themselves to this company.
The pay keeps getting lower and the demands get higher.
The new Regional Vice President is terrible. He has no social skills, no sales experience and is just a fool. He could not sell a phone or ring a transaction if his life depended on it. Yet he yells that sales are low.
Little to no advertising bythe company.
Poor store locations that are run down or have no traffic.
People say that he's "driving the bus, but does not know where he is going". Very true.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of excessive District Managers, stop hiring friends and family of the President and Corporate structure. The company used to be really good three + years ago. Who knows what happened or why.
