I have been working at Gold's Gym part-time for more than a year

Pros

gym membership, and that's pretty much it.

Cons

Horrible GM, very low pay, too much work for one person and they expect you to do everything with no help.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

understand that we can't greet every member and make shakes and get memberships updated at once! front desk needs two people!

    I worked at Gold's Gym

    Pros

Working at GGI provides opportunity to network and meet high level people in the industry. Other than being a resume builder, it is simply trading time for money.

    Cons

Control and consensus trump innovation and growth. Innovation is not tolerated well if it doesn't support the perceived (not communicated) status quo. Being health related, you would think the corporate environment was amenable to employees living a healthy lifestyle, it is not always the case.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Customer retention and satisfaction should be equal or higher priority to driving sales. Communication from leadership is almost non-existent. The corporate culture needs to engage and support employees in living healthy lifestyles - which includes managing stress! Unfortunately, the ownership group most likely would not support any initiatives from management which require investment as they are too short sighted to see the long term benefits to their bank accounts.
