I have been working at Golden Living part-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Residents and staff are great.

    Cons

No raises in 2 years, food is awful, too little staff for too much work, no Alzheimer's unit but a lot of Alzheimer's residents. NO TEAMWORK between shifts or wings. Not set up evenly, one end has around 60 residents and the other 99 with same amt of nurses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase staff on end with 99 , change menus, put raises back.

I have been working at Golden Living full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I have seen no pros. It's the worst company I've worked for.

    Cons

I've been with the company a short-time and new to long term care. I have a degree but was told I needed to take the low salary because I didn't have experience. I have seen such incompetence with management only to find the administrator does not have a degree and the HR Director was a CNA with no degree. No one listens to concerns and if you complain some have found themselves on the unemployment line after questioning management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company needs to hire individuals trained in management and leadership. Golden Living is no where close to being a cutting edge company in long term care and rehab.
