I have been working at Golden State Foods full-time

    Pros

It is a secure place to work. The company is doing well and growing fast. The benefits and compensation are on average or slightly above.

    Cons

Overtime is not optional but mandatory. There is no work/life balance. You must be prepared to dedicate the majority of your life to the job.

I have been working at Golden State Foods full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

After probation period, great benefits ( medical, dental, vacation ). Pay starts above average for barging unit employee and raises are given as you become proficient in your job. Teamster retirement low but under the rule of 84, so retired at 55 with full benefits and healthcare. Good equipment, safe, clean and plenty of hours.

    Cons

Executive management outstanding but that is where it ends. Management at facilities ( Industry) have their heads where the sun does not shine. In most jobs, mandatory excessive overtime and managers and supervisors could care less if you have a life. Managers are two faced and have little to no loyalty or compassion for their employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have been at it for a while. Since wages are set and at their level because of the Teamsters, you should take your head and insert it where the sun shines. Start treating your employees better, some employees love the 70 hours work weeks but some of us have families we would like to see as they grow. Most of your supervisors have their job not by what they know but by how much butt they have kissed. Change it to knowledge and it would improve the environment for all.
