I have been working at Golder Associates full-time

    Pros

Great culture, although the company has over 8000 employees, it mantains a "family" type of environment.
    Flexible
    Great benefits
    Work life balance
Company genuinely cares about its employees

    Cons

Need to get more organized in terms of how it develops employees outside of engineering

As Golder continues to grow It needs to change the old boys club mentality

I have been working at Golder Associates full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Employee owned

You either fit with Golder or you don't. They are quick to make this clear within the first 3 months where you either stay on or are let go

    Cons

Comes across as an old boys club at times. Some P+A's have been with the company 30 years and are resistant to change or new ideas.

P+A's and Division Managers don't fully listen to the feedback they receive.

Benefits could be better for non engineering staff

The squeaky wheel gets the grease, those in the company who are vocal and who are demanding generally get ahead. Unless you are one of these you will get very little recognition.

Lack of respect from some Engineers/Principals/Associates towards those who aren't engineers i.e. I.T staff or Admin staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As the company continues to grow it's apparent that there's a lack of understanding towards growth management. There's lots of talk about 'One Golder' worldwide but a lack of understanding about how to work towards that concept.

Get rid of some of the C7 and C8's who have been there forever and who seem to enjoy making life difficult for those they work with
