I worked at Goldman Sachs full-time (more than an year)

Pros

A good employer with excellent benefits and a lot of support for employees with diverse requirements. Working from home was allowed and made for a better work-life balance.

Cons

Everything is consensus-led - which is exhausting and makes employees feel like children. As someone who needs an amount of leadership to progress, this felt like I had taken several steps back in my career. Also, there is still a culture of who can stay in the office latest - this is pathetic and needs to stop.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop promoting those who stay in the office when there is no real need for them to do so. Also, allow more junior members of the management more autonomy and responsibility, and support them in all their decisions - instead of not trusting them.

I worked at Goldman Sachs full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

+ Good name to have in your resume since it carries a lot of weight in the industry
+ Get to learn a lot
+ Pay seem to be on par with industry (in good years, the bonus could be substantial)

    Cons

    - Usually no work-life balance due to lot of work (takes it's toll on health)
    - I was unfortunate to have joined a team under a bad manager who was a big pain - this was the primary reason to leave the company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Weed out managers who just show off, do nothing, and are white elephants
