I worked at Goldman Sachs as an intern (less than a year)

Pros

Very high level of intellectual capacity from colleagues, working with big numbers and amazing reputation

Cons

As soon as the position cuts plans were public, the atmosphere became toxic and the inter-personal relations suffered from that

I worked at Goldman Sachs full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

A good employer with excellent benefits and a lot of support for employees with diverse requirements. Working from home was allowed and made for a better work-life balance.

    Cons

Everything is consensus-led - which is exhausting and makes employees feel like children. As someone who needs an amount of leadership to progress, this felt like I had taken several steps back in my career. Also, there is still a culture of who can stay in the office latest - this is pathetic and needs to stop.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop promoting those who stay in the office when there is no real need for them to do so. Also, allow more junior members of the management more autonomy and responsibility, and support them in all their decisions - instead of not trusting them.

I worked at Goldman Sachs as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Great network of people. Lot of events. Good pay.

    Cons

In terms of experience due to the firms size, it's a little limited to all the things you can explore. Limited flexibility in terms of all aspects of the business. As an intern you spend to much time updating your team.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think management needs to involve interns on their current projects/ meetings rather than give them segregated work.
