Pros

You make your money and if you're not salaried, there's always room to make more money with overtime.

Cons

The atmosphere can be intense and because it's money driven, it's not always the friendliest place to work.

    Pros

+ When the year is good, you might make a decent bonus
    + Colleagues are universally intelligent

    Cons

    - very long hours and extremely high stress
    - you are a worthless cog in a massive, cold, cruel machine - expect no sympathy and cold logic, and you will be fine
    - if you like SQL selects and inserts, and FTPing files around, then you will be fine - most programmers spend their lives doing this and wrestling with stored procedures
