I worked at Golfsmith full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great if you like Golf. They provide reasonable discounts to employees, and offer free courses as well for employees.

    Cons

They spent more money on making the place look pretty, then paying employees. It seemed like the company had too many bosses and not enough money to go around to the people doing the hard work for the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your people more money, and less money on the decor.

    I worked at Golfsmith

    Pros

Great access to a golf atmosphere and good food at company events

    Cons

    - Promises are frequently broken and management does not value their word like they should
    - People are encouraged just to lookout for themselves first and not rewarded for contributing to their coworkers and subordinates. Managements primary job is to look out for the bottom line and sees efforts to improve the top line as a distraction at best.
    - Management zeeliously pits workers against one another in ways that compromises their careers in order to make short terms gains in department metrics
    - Expressing ambition to grown within the company by transferring to another department will likely results in very negative outcomes
