    Great place to work

I worked at Google as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great perks; food, gym, snacks, casual attire, fun environment, lots of company sponsored events

    Cons

Like any corporation really, management seems to only care about what they can put on their resume. But since this is the case pretty much anyplace you work, hard to really state it as a con. Towards the end however, management started to micromanage a bit too much. This took away from the casual environment that once made working at Google so great, since employees felt emboldened and had better output.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Lay off micromanagement.

This place had great benefits (like free food) but they kept us isolated from the rest of the company.

I have been working at Google as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, take-home Apple laptop, great free food. Lots of parties, fitness centers, cars with drivers who ferry you around campus, heated spa toilet seats, bicycles to borrow and ride around the grounds.

    Cons

Share a tiny office with multiple "cube-mates", no information shared with contract employees, difficult to know what you are and aren't allowed to do, people aren't all that friendly, and they view information as something valuable to be traded.
