I have been working at Google full-time

    Pros

Free food is amazing.Great atmosphere, people work together and help each other. No strict rules on hours. Many tech talks that you can attend freely to learn.

    Cons

Google is too huge that you will only be able to see a small small part of the whole company.

Contractors get the worst treatment at this tech giant, there's no autonomy whatsoever.

    Pros

Snacks, shuttle service, speed in which a contractor can move up the ranks and be a "senior contractor", utilizing many of the famous Google perks, if sometimes on the sly.

    Cons

Zero power and zero say in constant moves and changes in role, watched any say I had dwindle by the day as roles shifted beyond my control, the dreaded RED BADGE felt like a scarlet letter compared to all of the full timer-s white badges, constantly being 5-10 years older than all new hires set to manage contractors.

    Advice to Management

Allow contractors more of the ability to work towards full time status rather than let them fend for themselves and eventually be phased out like an old computer.
