Pros

Google perks are best in the industry and Founders and Sr. Management have done well to invest in attracting and retaining talent. The work place is really enjoyable and there is always excitement in the air about new technology.

Cons

Far too many overqualified people doing trivial work. Here even minions have minions of their own on contract to do even smallest of tasks.

Advice to Management

Hiring practices are strange and often give too much power to one individual to influence the decision. This policy would work great if everyone you have hired is already perfect. But there are some bad apples, and they are setting up barriers for smarter people to get in and work.

Great salary and benefits, slowly morphing into a bureaucratic behemoth.

    Pros

-For a large corporation Google is still amazingly open and transparent about company objectives and results. -If you're an engineer, it's The Holy Grail. Engineers will always be at the top of the pecking order when it comes to compensation, bennies, etc. -Despite its size, Google is still willing to take big risks in the name of innovation.

    Cons

-In most orgs there's a glass ceiling for non MBAs. There's too much emphasis on pedigree vs real-world experience. -A serious sense of entitlement/hubris exists throughout, most prevalent on campus where recent college grads operate in a non-reality.

Best company in the world, but that doesn't mean all work you do will be equally interesting

    Pros

Amazing people, learning opportunities and perks. Interesting own culture you can learn a lot from. Every programmer should experience working here.

    Cons

As hard as they work at cutting through bureaucracy, it remains a large company with all the problems that gives. If you're the kind of person that likes to just get things done instead of guiding your project through the companies processes, you may get frustrated.
