    Pros

    Free meals, coffee, and snacks.

    Cons

Working in a culture of 20 something, ivy league graduates with inflated egos was challenging.
Contractors are not offered benefits, perks (massages, dinners out, free phones an other gifts, etc.). They are not invited to team or company celebrations like the huge holiday party. You end up feeling like a 2nd class citizen.

    Advice to Management

Be kinder to contractors. They have a lot to offer and are overlooked.

    Pros

Great atmosphere, great people, great work, great ambitions, and great food. Google has a positive outlook on the world, and strives to make it a reality. I loved working with so many talented, insightful, and human people.

    Cons

Hiring can easily take six months, even internally. This leads to a drop in worker retention overall.

The job can be very demanding, and sometimes the team-scale management doesn't know exactly what they want out of their teams. New groups growing and sunsetting often means that metrics need to be measured often, but sometimes they have no idea what metrics to use. This can cause some teammates to "fall behind" the rest when quantity outweighs quality.

    Advice to Management

Be willing to work with your colleagues in order to best understand how to leverage their strengths. Trying to shove people into roles they may not be suited for should be avoided at all costs.
