I worked at Google as an intern

Pros

The environment and culture are wonderful. There's free food and events. The company does interesting work. You fee like your work is relevant when you work here because of the nature of the company's work. The people are nice, smart, and down to earth.

Cons

People are assigned a lot of work so you must be sure to do a good job balancing your workload. It's hard to get work done when you have so many awesome distractions like neat events to attend.

I worked at Google as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Beautiful campus, free food, friendly people and tremendous technology. This is definitely the place you want to be to see cutting technology being tested and surveyed. You can just take a walk down the street and see a StreetView car or a Driverless car being tested.

    Cons

Bureaucracy on conversion of contractors to full-time. There is so much stigma from being a contractor and it is really difficult to obtain a permanent position after the contract is over, especially if you are not an engineer. There is definitely a feel of segregation between contractors and employees.

    Recommends
    Positive Outlook
    Approves of CEO
