- some very good senior management, impressive talent
- can find some very good working cultures, management, but need to look around
- solid pay/benefits, particularly for lower echelon positions relative to private sector counterparts

- can find some serious workplace culture, HR issues, often with tolerance for low performers
- responsiveness to political realm can be difficult, and can detract from other policy work
