Pros

It is a good company to work in. Employees are qualified, particularly in the Research department, work environment is quite comfortable, gym, cafeteria.

Cons

The management structure could be optimized. I did not understand what exactly some managers were doing. Compensation is lower that in similar companies.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Optimize the management structure, pay better, encourage interaction between different groups,
move the trading platform to Linux, provide more training opportunities.

    Cons

    Below market compensation
Some employees are very hardworking while others are slackers
Not a meritocracy, although lip service paid to it. Initiatives by employees not properly recognized
Limited upside if you make money and unlimited downside if you don't

    Pros

In the discretionary PM dept people are courteous and there is great support from IT. PM's don't really share ideas (to avoid over correlation) but are affable.

    Cons

Your employment future is tenuous since it depends almost as much on performance of existing managers as on your own. If they do badly then you may get the axe since you are new and have no "history" with them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Way too much fixed income emphasis - if bond vol dies then so will all prospect of earning any money for clients.

    Recommends
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
