I have been working at Graham Packaging full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Flexible working hours - great for family life
Great co-workers
New leadership is improving the situation but they have a long row to hoe.

Cons

Ineffective leadership in some departments
Expensive benefits and compensation is on the low side
Minimal training budgets
Previous leadership had really cut staffing to a level that does not allow the job to be accomplished in a successful manner. With minimal staffing, tasks are being completely in a sloppy manner or not at all.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Really look at your VPs in key departments - they had a hand in allowing GPC to get into this mess.
We need leaders who are willing to make decisions and confront the problems head-on.

I have been working at Graham Packaging full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Very safety orientated. Always looking ahead for new products and development at our plant

    Cons

Would like to see the top out pay come quicker. Been at the plant 8 yrs and still i am over $2.00 away from topping out. Have had excellent reviews thats not the problem. Very little raises over the years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please i ask you to look at the top out pay and ask yourself" why does it take them so long to top out "? Think about your employees who have been there and maybe reward the senior employees with topping out after lets say 10 yrs. I just do not see why it should take someone 10 to 15 years to reach their top out pay. Especially the ones with excellent reviews.

I have been working at Graham Packaging

    Pros

    The pay is pretty good

    Cons

As with any large company it is easy to become a number and get lost in the shuffle.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a little more compassion for the employees and try a little harder to follow through on requests that make the employees life more bearable.

    No opinion of CEO
