Current Employee – been working at Grand & Toy
Pros – At the highest level, the marketing strategy is defined by two customer segments - small and large. If you are good at selling a plan attached to this - even if it has no real metrics for success or failure - you will have a long tenure with little professional satisfaction. The Business Development and Sales teams are the only reason that any salaries are paid. Work for them.
Cons – Absent leadership with no accountability to the the parent company. Money is lost year after year with no change in senior leadership - only job losses for those who are required follow their direction.
Advice to Senior Management – Marketing senior leadership (Director and above) need to be accountable to hard numbers. Ensure that at the start of the year, senior leadership has put in place a detailed plan, created with the knowledge and buy-in of employees. Break the plan down to quarterly goals and allow employees the ownership and respect to see these goals through without disruption or priority change.
