I have been working at Grant Thornton full-time

    Pros

I have been at GT for 5 years (private & public sectors) and have enjoyed everything about the firm. Very flexable, lots of talent, good clients, and management mostly cares about you.

    Cons

I have always felt I was note compensated at what I should be, but most people get their salaries up by jumping around a bit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to see things from the eyes of the associates and realize what value they truely bring to your practices, if for nothing else but retension.

I have been working at Grant Thornton full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Employees are very well taken care of. Partners are knowledgeable, flexible, and supportive of their juniors. Lots of opportunities to progress relatively quickly through the ranks. Lots of chances for informal and formal mentoring. AND they sponsor your CPA, with a bonus offering if passed within a year or so of hiring.

    Cons

Busy season, picky clients, a few apathetic colleagues.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reiterate the benefits of staying in public accounting as associates rise through the ranks to minimize turnover after the sr associate/manager level
