Fantastic company to work for but has gone through a lot of change over the past few years

I have been working at Green Dot full-time

    Pros

Extremely smart and motivated employees in every department
Depth of experience of employees in everything from retail to supply chain to technology to finance and consumer needs

    Cons

Has gone through much change over the past few years and those who have been with the firm a long time have not enjoyed the change to becoming a public company with more regulations and restrictions
Turnover from that period has resulted in those let go being very dissatisfied

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees more and address the culture change proactively

  2. Helpful (4)

Poor leadership, lack of class, dog-eat-dog

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Benefits were reasonable and decent, but as far as the work environment goes, none.

    Cons

Micromanagement in an unproductive and control-obsessed way, unqualified employees placed in management positions, a lack of cohesiveness within the business units and behavior that exhibits an absence in teamwork, and a very elementary and disorganized/uncoordinated vision for the outlook of the company.

    Advice to Management

The idea of pre-paid cards is no longer a novelty. Try to expand your vision, extend the circle of your clientele, and do something about the long-time employees who might be hindering the progress and movement of the company by being "comfortable" and "set in their ways". Discontinue the promoting of unqualified people into management positions just because they're already there or have been there for awhile (promote on true merit), or at least, become aware of the lack of education and class that breeds the culture within.
