Pros

The company has products on the market so there is more job stability than for a startup company with no approved products. Benefits are good, although new management is trimming them away to save money. The work is not to busy or stressful.

Cons

Suffers from too many regimented procedures from the Bayer days. This is changing (slowly) with new Grifols management. After being acquired by Grifols, costs are being cut by reducing benefits, projects and positions. This has led to some stability, but this may have leveled off. Morale remains low as everyone waits for the next upper management decisions.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you want to keep your best employees, offer more benefits instead of cutting them.

    Pros

-Great place if you simply need a paycheck
-Fantastic if you have no desire to move upward
-Great for those who like silos
-Wonderful if you have no ambition and don't like to exert yourself
-Excellent case study if you want to learn how not to run a business

    Cons

    -Pay is low to moderate
-Little ambition in senior management; there are occasional bright pockets, but they generally don't last long
-Low IQ or EQ among most of the Executive Team

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire a consulting group to integrate the company. Operating three as one, without actually meshing them, is creating a non-beneficial competitive environment where those who stay are becoming apathetic. The recent merger with Biomat, Plasmacare and Talecris was actually a smart move but not having a plan to integrate the companies has put you way behind the competition.

Develop a vision and share that with the team; move the company in one direction. There is currently very limited leadership ability in those that lead in Barcelona. This is noticeable throughout the company and the best people don't want to stay in this type of environment. Identify top performers and top outside talent and work to move them up. Get rid of dead weight.

    Pros

The FSA and benefits package is good compared to other companies

    Cons

They don't value their employees enough. They will take a nobody and turn them in to a Grifols "certified" Phlebotomist but they are not certified by the state, so that makes it so they can't go anyplace else and work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Interact more with your employees. You have a us/them mentality. Management vs. Employees. If you hire someone with experience in a field treat them with respect for who they are and what they know and have accomplished.
