Pros

I liked the hours, the learning opportunities, and the staff was great.

Cons

With the recent budget cuts, peoples hours were cut and some people were let go. Also there were many changes with the work flow which I felt were not at the full potential in terms of efficiency.

Advice to Management

Really listen to the feedback employees have.

    Pros

After working here for 24 years, three things stand out for me:

    Pay and benefits
    Telecommuting
    Medical providers

There was no other place to work that could compete with the pay and benefits we received. And even though this job is prevalent in telecommuting, everything was provided for us to perform our job without having to pay for anything related to doing our work. That can't be said for transcriptionists outside of GHC. The support from the medical providers was overwhelming, letting us know how much they appreciated all that we did for them, the quality of our work we provided, and knowing that the service we provided freed up a lot of their time in their already busy days.

    Cons

If your position can be outsourced in any way, it will be. That's true for these times, but it's particularly hard on those of us who have devoted most of our working career to one company. For people considering employment, I'd suggest checking the longevity of your position with a career counselor or the Employment Security Department. It's better to go forward with that type of information.

Familiarize yourself with this website to know what people's concerns are and don't just go with the numbers.

    Pros

    Great benefits, VERY competitive pay.

    Cons

Layoffs... Upper management are the golden children and dictate everything.

    Advice to Management

Layoff upper management who are overpaid instead of the worker bees who keep your patients coming back.
