I have been working at Grupo Santander full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Lots of internal opportunities, good work/life balance, seem to have survived the banking crisis due to astute management

Cons

Still issues with the Spanish ownership at times, ruthless in their execution (i.e. if you don't pull your weight, they will know)

I have been working at Grupo Santander full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Its a worldwide known company, which gives you a security feeling in our current crisis enviroment in Spain.

    Cons

At least in retail Banking: No salary raise after 4 years (crisis), very low salaries, lots of extra hours non paid, no, or very few carreer aportunities since 2008

I worked at Grupo Santander full-time

    Pros

Good colleagues and team spirit made working there very pleasurable. As a customer service rep. it was nice to deal with lots of different clients (both businesses and individuals). You get a lot of support from colleagues.

    Cons

Not enough people to handle peak periods, which can lead to a lot of lag in service times later on which in turns frustrated customers.

All open positions were sometimes not accessible, which led to some frustrations when I discovered that there would have been an interesting position but it was already filled.

    Positive Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
