I have been working at Guardian Life full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Ability to transfer departments after one year, decent benefits.

    Cons

SUREQUOTE = High school environment, bad people, underpaid, poor management ETC ETC.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees. You set the goal WAYYYY too high for what you pay us. It's actually pretty simple, when you add more tasks to the job, add more money to our paychecks and you'll get better results!

I worked at Guardian Life full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Loved my coworkers because they were real people, passionate and caring.

    Cons

Don't value individual contributors. It shows in the rewards (merit increase) system. They are top heavy - there about 35 officers in hr but only 80 or so people in that dept)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let Scott Dolfi, COO, choose the head of hr next time.

The current EVP of hr was in that role when I was there, and he ripped apart initiatives then rebuilt them with his name. Doesn't listen well. No surprise.
