I worked at Guess?

Pros

The people really make it a good environment to work in; because of that, it made me want to go to work even more.

Cons

There really wasn't any downsides of working at Guess, except for cleaning/closing/opening, but those come with any job. So I can't complain.

    Pros

    The discount is fairly good in comparison to most places.

    Cons

    Very low pay for hard work
    They expect too much and continue to ask for too much of you
    Kept late after closing to clean store. I was there some nights until 12 or 1 am.
    Often take advantage of your strengths and only point out your flaws
    Treat associates as if they're replaceable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Recognize the talent within your stores instead of constantly pointing out how much "better" they could be.

    Pros

    Great people.
    Great employee discount.
    If you consistently do well in sales, they promote quickly/

    Cons

    Inability to honor time conflicts with shceduling when manager was warned of such issues weeks ahead of time.
    Some sales associates really needed the hours, and the manager refused to give anyone more than 10-15 hours per week. Some only got 5, and there was this weird on-call thing they did. Basically they would put on your schedule for ex: Friday ON-CALL '2PM-8PM'. Which means that they may or may not call you to come in, and you can't make any other plans because they may call you at any time to come in.
    Sometimes, they wouldn't schedule enough people during peak hours, resulting in an increase of theft, a very messy store, and dissatisfied customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Respect your associates. If you are not going to give enough hours to good workers, then do not hire so many people. Especially if you are not going to schedule enough of them during peak hours.
