    I worked at Guidance Software

    Pros

    - The internal training (When given the opportunity) is very nice
    - Your colleagues are generally, very intelligent
    - Great place to start a career

    Cons

    - Management is not concerned with employee morale
    - Heavily favoritism on promotions (Friends get friends' promoted)
    - Extremely stressful place to work
    - Management structure is more of a dictatorship, e.g. There is one person in the company that controls all aspects, regardless if they know what is best, nor if they agree with the customer base
    - Micromanagement runs rampant
    - Most employees are overworked, and thus tend to be short with each other
    - Because Management pushes "Fear" as a major motivator, there is plenty of backstabbing and finger-pointing amongst employees
    - Promises are made (Purposefully verbally) then never kept

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Managers need to stop micro-managing - you have plenty of highly intelligent employees. Trust them.
    - Remove the "dictator" and allow that person to do the job they are competent at, remove other decision-making from their job function.
    - Allow the board of directors to actually make decisions for the company
    - Reduce workload on employees so they can slow down and do a better job
    - Reduce expected hours worked
    - Focus on external (not internal) management training -or- stop promoting non-managers to managers.
