Current Employee – been working at Guitar Center

Pros – There is plenty of opportunity to define your own income level and move up within the company if you have a solid work ethic and a willingness to learn. If you have natural talent as a salesperson and understanding of music gear you can go as far as you like.

Cons – There is high turnover because of lack of work ethic or lack of drive to sell. Having to constantly train new hires on the floor slows workflow.

Advice to Senior Management – A longer hiring process and focus on new-hire training could make all the difference. Also incentives for top performers should be a focus.
