I have been working at Gwinnett County Schools full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

GCPS is a respected school system in Georgia education. The county is strong, emphasizing accelerated and AP education for as many high school students as possible. Over 80% of 2012 graduates reported plans to pursue postsecondary education. They were offered over a million dollars in scholarships, not including the Hope Scholarship and Gates Millennium Scholarship. Close to half the class took at least one advanced placement course during their high school tenure. We have a lot to be proud of, and I'm thankful to have spent my entire career as a teacher in the Gwinnett County System.

    Cons

The country's economic woes have deeply affected the teaching profession. GCPS teachers have not received the longevity-step salary increase the past five years.
