I worked at Gymboree part-time for less than a year

Pros

Simple, non-complicated work. Cute clothes.

Cons

Not a lot of hours, too many goals, crappy discounts, too many resets, strict dress code, expected to bend over backwards for every customer.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ease up on the dress code, be more reasonable with sales goals.

Great customers and adorable clothes but this company doesn't seem to care about their employees.

I worked at Gymboree full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fun clothes and atmosphere. Great co-workers and good sales. It is a fun job dealing with children and customers for the most part are always happy coming in.

    Cons

Over worked, too much inventory, poor higher management, not enough hours to work on, unrealistic goals set by the company. Poor pay and little room for advancement. DM plays favorites.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The DM's and higher need to actually spend time in the stores and be more involved. Stop pushing survey so much and need more hours! Higher management (corporate) should come in and work the stores. I feel they make decisions from behind a desk and don't really understand on how it really is in the store. They have a high turnover rate because they are way to demanding for what they offer in pay. Pay people better and you will keep the quality workers. Nothing like going to work everyday and knowing you're being way underpaid and not appreciated.
