I have been working at Gymboree full-time for more than a year

Pros

I have alot of support from my District Manager, and I believe in the quality of our product.
This company cares about their people.
Customer Service is our number one concern. Our customers leave happy.
Internal promotions happen constantly if you work hard enough.

Cons

Not enough payroll to execute tasks.
Floor sets are too frequent and usually fall on holidays like Mother's Day or Tax Free Weekend.
Management is usually on single coverage for up to five hours.
Allocations are out of control. Small stores get much more inventory than larger stores, which makes for a messy, unorganized back room.
Inconsistent and outdated computer systems.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give us more time to do our job. And pay us more money to work ourselves to death.

Who has time to manage when all you are doing is stock, markdowns, setting a new line and a new sale

I have been working at Gymboree full-time for less than a year

    Pros

DM, peers and home office support is excellent!

    Cons

Over expectation of corporate executive management. Not enough coverage on sales floor to provide "Legendary Service" and to prevent shop lifters.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Many managers are working 60 plus hours a week to accomplish the tasks of "stuffing" and straightening the sales floor with merchandise. Many managers are paying staff under the table to get work done.

I worked at Gymboree part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Simple, non-complicated work. Cute clothes.

    Cons

Not a lot of hours, too many goals, crappy discounts, too many resets, strict dress code, expected to bend over backwards for every customer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ease up on the dress code, be more reasonable with sales goals.
